    Reflecting the decreasing trend of the international passenger flow in the world, the incoming foreign passengers to our country in 1974 noted a 2.6 percent decrease against the previous year. By the object of trip, the decline of the sightseeing passengers was most noticiable at minus 9.3 percent against the previous year.
    For the Japanese overseas travellers in 1974, an increase of 2.1 percent over the preceding year was observed mainly because the travellers for sightseeing increased by 3.5 percent over the previous year, although the travellers for business purposed showed a decrease of 4.9 percent against the previous year. However, for the January-June term of 1975, the Japanese overseas travellers noted a 0.8 percent decrease against the same term of the previous year (Table 1-2-5 and Fig. 1-2-6)
    Now looking the incoming and outgoing passengers in use of aircraft, a 2.9 percent increase was noted in 1974 over the previous year, but number of passengers carried by the aviation enterprises of our country decreased by 5.2 percent against the previous year, and the rate of loading also declined. Although number of passengers carried decreased in 1974, it regained in the April-June term of 1975 and exceeded the level in the same term of the preceding year.
