The traffic accidents occurring in the recent three years are illustrated in Table 3-1-1 by type of traffic. As seen, they are in a decreasing trend, and now considering the intensifying congestion of traffic in these years, the foregoing trend may be said to be owing to the reinforcement and thoroughness of the traffic safety measures. However, the number Of the killed and injured in the traffic accidents is still at a high level and is mostly constituted by those in the road traffic accidents, posing a grave social problem. Thus, it is required to further promote the traffic safety measures.
