The Ministry sponsored ''Tabi Fair," a fair all on the subJect of travels, and also "Prefectural Tourism Development Action Conference (TAP90'S)" to propose and carry out specific plans to promote tourism in regions. The development of tourism is being helped by making use of traditional local art and protecting touristic resources so that local communities can develop tourism on their own. The Ministry is also promoting the creation of family travel villages, family camp villages, internationl culture villages and other facilities suitable to tourist resorts.
