Two country meeting

(1) People's Republic of China

[Summary]

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) and the Ministry of Transport of the People's Republic of China (PRC) held the 37th Japan-China Road Meeting on October 13, 2023.
At this meeting, we exchanged knowledge concerning ITS and automated driving as well as toll management and smart expressways. We also confirmed the continuous technology exchange between Japan and China.

(2) India

[Summary]

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT), Japan, and the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), India, jointly hosted 9th Japan-India Road Meeting on January 24 in 2024 in Tokyo.
In this meeting, we shared knowledge in the road sector regarding carbon-neutrality, road planning, road construction, and road maintenance. We confirmed continuing technological exchange between Japan and India.
This meeting is based on the cooperation of the roads and road transportation sector, signed in 2014, to promote mutual cooperation between the two countries in the field of roads.

(3) Socialist Republic of Vietnam

[Summary]

A seminar was held based on the “Memorandum on Cooperation on Roads between the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism and the Ministry of Transportation in Vietnam” in Hanoi, Vietnam in 2008. Ever since, the seminar has been held almost every year.

The 11th Vietnam Expressway Seminar

(4)Republic of Indonesia

[Summary]

On February 10th, The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) organized an online "Japan-Indonesia International Conference on Toll Road O&M Technologies" with supoort of the Ministry of Public Works and Housing in Indonesia.

In this conference, the participants shared the latest situation of toll roads in Indonesia, Japanese technologies and approaches to the operation and maintenance of expressways, and also confirmed that both the public and private sectors will continue to cooperate with each other in this field.

(5)Philippines

[Summary]

On November 15, 2023, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) of Japan and Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) of the Philippines held a Business Workshop on Road Tunnel Construction and O&M in Manila, Philippines.

During the workshop, presentations on road tunnel construction and O&M were given by both countries, followed by an exchange meeting to promote business matching between companies from both countries.

[Summary]

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) and the Ministry of Land Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT) held the 19th Japan Korea Road Meeting on August 31st.
In this meeting, we exchanged knowledge concerning the latest initiatives in the road sector, expressway policy, and road management, and confirmed the continuous exchange of technology between Japan and Korea.
