Kakehashi River Diversion Channel

Komatsu, City of Water Creating a River in Harmony with History and Culture

〜Kakehashi River Diversion Channel〜

The Kakehashi River Diversion Channel modified the river by employing a diversion system, rare in Japan, in order to safely flood and to preserve the national important cultural properties of the Komatsu Tenmangu Shrine’s main gate and main shrine building at their current locations. The now floating island of Komatsu Tenmangu Shrine has become the symbol of the local area.

In addition, there is also a unique Diversion Channel Card, which is similar to a dam card, for the Kakehashi River Diversion Channel. The card is given to those who have watched the video (viewed using a QR code) on the small signboard on the floating island and meet certain conditions. Why not give it a try?
