Kochi Port /Port of Susaki

〜Feel the energy of Kochi’s industry!〜

In addition to limestone, indispensable to Japan's steel industry, and coal, needed to supply power to factories, ports have other functions too, such as trade with foreign countries (South Korea and China) via container routes, and support local industrial activities.
At the ports of Kochi and Susaki, there are tours of rarely seen views from the sea on the harbor service boat Tosakaze where you can feel the familiarity and charming appeal of ports. Applications for tours are accepted at any time.
In addition, as part of the Kochi Minato Matsuri held from July to August every year, there is port watching in late July.

• I was able to gain the precious experience of getting views of the scenery from the sea that normally cannot be seen, and learn the true purpose of the casual-looking facilities.
• It was nice to be able to actually see the terrain of the port not just on a map. Seeing the tsunami breakwater in person was great.
