Odo Dam

Charming with Its Many Colors Odo Dam

〜Experience the amazing clear water of the Niyodo River〜

The Odo Dam is located on the main stream of the Niyodo River, famous for its “Niyodo blue” color. In the spring, about three thousand Yoshino cherry trees bloom around the dam lake, and there are the weeping cherry and gourd-shaped cherry trees about twenty minutes by car from the dam, so many people come to see them.
Camping on the dam lake square is also popular during the summer months. Enjoy water skiing and fishing in the rich nature, and spend holidays relaxing while gazing upon the beautiful mountain scenery.
In addition, there are events held around the dam lake including the Niyodogawa Oyako Fureai Bus Tour for children and their families, Niyodogawa-cho Sagiriko Festival and Niyodogawa-cho Kuishinbo Marathon. The dam is also illuminated during the Sagiriko Festival held in August.
For dam tours, there are now not only groups that come every year for events such as excursions, but also more groups visiting for the first time.
