Honmyo River

Making Use of Abundant Riverside Space

〜Enjoy the Waterside at Honmyo River〜

A road used for river management (walking path) has been paved along the riverbed of the Honmyo River, which runs through the center of Isahaya City. Many residents use this road throughout the year in their daily lives for walking and strolling along, traveling to work and school and so on.

Also, the walkway features cherry blossoms in the spring, and the Isahaya Manto River Festival is held here each year during the summertime as part of passing the story of the great flood of Isahaya (July 25, 1957) down to future generations, in a wish for the tranquility of the Honmyo river. Many residents and tourists come to enjoy the waterside of this river.

The walking path of Honmyo River (used for managing the river) is about 6.0 km long. From this path, visitors can enjoy the scenery that is representative of Isahaya City, along with the flowers found in places like Isahaya Park. We encourage you to come for a walk.
