〜Enjoy the seasons at Yabakei Dam〜

Normally, you would never have the chance to go inside a dam, but each year, around 1,000 elementary school students from the local area tour our facility. Why not come visit our dam to learn about the water you use every day?
While you’re here, we encourage you to visit Yabakei (Yaba Gorge), which is a registered Japan Heritage site.
The spring brings fresh greenery and cherry blossoms. In the summer, visitors enjoy sightseeing and water sports on the lake. The mountains of Yabakei are awash with the color of autumn leaves in the fall, and the wintertime is a great time to relax in the hot springs.
Visitors can also rent a bicycle and enjoy the beautiful scenery to the fullest while out on a cycling course. Nakatsu fried chicken nuggets make a nice treat for a meal, but why not try the soba noodles at a soba restaurant in Shin-Yabakei, upstream from the dam?
