The Tokyo Metropolitan Government is advancing a continuous overpass project as part of road maintenance to eliminate gridlock and to smooth road traffic by removing railroad crossings.

For the Odakyu Odawara Line (between Yoyogi-Uehara Station and Umegaoka Station) continuous overpass project, approximately 2.2 km of track have been moved underground, and nine railroad crossings have been removed. A four-track line project has also been implemented, together with the continuous overpass project, to improve transportation on the Odakyu Line.
