Shingu Port

See the Cruise Ships at Shingu Port!

〜The hospitality of the Shingu Port Nagi-no-ki Miokuri-tai〜

Every year, many cruise ships enter Shingu Port, the gateway to the sea of the Kumano region, on their way to the World Heritage sites, including the sacred sites and pilgrimage routes of the Kii Mountains, as well as the Kumano Sanzan (three shrines of Kumano).

The highest number of port calls (16) ever were made in 2018; and the “COSTA neoROMANTICA” and “Star Legend” ships are planned to arrive in Wakayama Prefecture for the first time. More cruise ships are coming than ever before, including those from other countries.

We invite you to take a closer look at these cruise ships and the harbor facilities they use when they enter the port. Also, the city of Shingu is always looking for members to join the “Shingu Port Nagi-no-ki Miokuri-tai”, where you can join the group in giving a warm welcome and send-off to passengers of cruise ships that come to and leave the port.
