Learn about the Functions and History of Ports Through an Industrial Tourism Bus Tour
〜Experience the history of coal at the Port of Ube〜
Industrial tourism bus tours are supervised by the local Association for the Promotion of Industrial Tourism and have a theme of local industry.
One of these tours is a tour of the Port of Ube, which introduces the history of coal at the Port of Ube, the role of the port in the region, and the port facilities.
During the tour, participants ride a boat and can look at factories surrounding the Port of Ube, port activities such as the loading and unloading of large cargo ships, and port construction that is currently underway, which are not normally open to the public, from on the water.
Seeing cargo ships and service operation vessels up close is extremely impactful.
