The city of Fuefuki was named after the Fuefukigawa River. The river runs through the center of the city. It features a cycling path, and it is utilized by many residents throughout the year for walking, cycling, and commuting, etc.In summer, it is the location of Japan’s only cormorant fishing without a boat and the Fuefukigawa Isawa Onsen Fireworks Festival, and in fall, it is home to events such as the re-enactment of the Battle of Kawanakajima. Fujikawa River System Mizube Ring Project In this project, residents, businesses, and government agencies that share an interest in the river banks work together to continuously start movements to create beautiful scenery and new activities for the city and the river banks.
