Naruko Dam Infrastructure Tourism Tour

Tours are generally held on weekdays, but please contact us by phone if you wish to make special arrangements.
In addition, Course A is recommended for a one-hour tour, and Course B for a two-hour tour, but please consult with us in advance regarding the duration of each. Consultations are accepted by e-mail or phone at least two weeks in advance.

Tour

  • Dam Crown

    The Naruko Dam is a gorge dam, and the surrounding mountains and Lake Arao offer a variety of spectacular sights, including the dam’s “screen discharge” in spring, fresh greenery in early summer, colorful foliage in fall, and snowscapes in winter.
  • Management Office Terrace Exhibition Room (Management Office 1F)

    You can learn about the history of the Naruko Dam’s construction and the role it plays, and on the terrace you can use a telescope to observe waterfowl, birds of prey, and the natural environment of the mountains.
  • Dam Operations Room (Management Office 2F)

    You can operate the monitoring cameras installed in the dam and learn about the observation equipment that serves as its eyes and ears. In the video facility, you can watch a video of the screen discharge and the Nanairo (seven-color) Tunnel.
