<Proposal>
The following policies can be adopted to improve the safety of motor vehicle transport.
-Both the government and the citizens should collect, analyze and utilize accident and danger information and promote traffic safety cycle21.
-The development of an Advanced Safety Vehicle (ASV)22 technology to improve accident prevention abilities of motor vehicles.
-Improving car bodies so they cause less injuries to the weak.
-Implementing a motor vehicle assessment system23, developing testing and assessment methods and publishing assessment lists.
-Constructing wide walkways and cycle paths with no obstructions.
-Strengthening the driver management of commercial vehicles.
-Enduring that insurance payments to accident victims are suitable and the expansion for relief measures for severely injured victims and their families.

Advanced Safety Vehicle (ASV)

  Advanced technologies such as Information Technology are being used to develop Advanced Safety Vehicles.
Column "Compatibility"

"Compatibility" is a word that is used to describe the idea of car collision safety. On the road there are vehicles of all sizes. It is well known that when a traffic accident occurs and the sizes of the vehicles are different, the smaller vehicle usually suffers the most damage. To protect the passenger of the smaller vehicle there is a proposal to design larger vehicles that absorb most of the impact. This is the idea of compatibility. There is also research being conducted to design vehicle bodies that do less damage to other vehicles and provide airbag protection for pedestrians. The comparative number of pedestrians and cyclist who are killed in traffic accidents is higher in Japan than in any other countries in the developed world. Japan is also well known for being a country that has relatively high numbers of subcompact cars that are environmentally friendly.
For these reasons, the idea of compatibility and pedestrian protection is very important.
  Example

Automobile Assessment System

  Automobile Assessment System is used to judge the safety of motor vehicles and provides that information to consumers. Consumers then will be able to choose a car based on its safety features. That and with the environment in mind, we anticipate that manufacturers will make better efforts to develop safe motor vehicles.
