In order to reinforce and promote the spread of Tourism Crisis Management*, the Japan Tourism Agency and UNWTO (United Nations World Tourism Organization) Regional Support Office for Asia and the Pacific developed implementation-related “Handbooks, Teaching Materials, and Instructor Handbooks” for municipalities, DMOs, and tourism-related businesses that compiled, analyzed, and organized good risk and crisis management practices from Japan and around the world on each phase of the “4 Rs”. The “4 Rs” are the basic elements of tourism crisis management: 1) Risk Reduction, 2) Readiness, 3) Response, and 4) Recovery.

This webinar serves as a keynote speech for municipalities, tourism-related businesses, and anyone else interested in tourism crisis management, from UNWTO headquarters and domestic Japanese organizations with prior experience in these issues. Handbooks and other materials on this topic developed by these organizations will also be introduced, along with ways of utilizing these materials.

We look forward to seeing you there!
