How to proceed with research studies

(1) Strengthening of functions of dissemination of information

　1) Dissemination of research results

PRILIT will compile the report “Land, Infrastructure and Transport Policy Studies” on research results. In addition to the external publication and the distribution to related organizations as needed, PRILIT will try to broadly disseminate information, publishing the paper in related journals or presenting research results at academic conferences actively, and also disseminate research results abroad.

　2) Publication of organs, Improvement of the website

PRILIT will publish the organ “PRI Review” periodically to provide a variety of information about research studies. Additionally, the broad access to these information or research results in the already established website will be enabled.

　3) Building of database

PRILIT will build the database which should store and organize research results and the useful information related to the formation of land, infrastructure and transport policy and the system which should offer all this information widely.

　4) Hosting of lectures and study sessions

PRILIT will host lectures to which external experts should be invited or study sessions for policy leaders, in order to extend their knowledge as well as offer the latest information needed for the policy formation.

(2) Enrichment of the evaluation of studies, etc.

　1) Enrichment of the evaluation of studies

PRILIT will enrich the pre- and post- evaluation of research studies, which should contribute to the improvement of the accountability to the public as well as the selection of appropriate research themes, the improvement of the quality of research. When evaluating, in addition to the internal evaluation of the institute, the appraisal by the outside experts or the comprehensive hearing of the views in the management advisory meeting consisting of academic experts should be conducted from the perspective of the improvement of objectivity and transparency. PRILIT will work flexibly on the implementation of the evaluation, including the use of such methods as workshop, etc., which should lead to the improvement of research contents.

　2) Implementation of the agency evaluation

PRILIT will implement the agency evaluation at roughly triennial intervals with the purpose of realizing of the efficient and effective management of the institute.

(3)Interaction with external research institutes

PRILIT will promote further cooperation with external research institutes of the nation, local governments, private sectors, or administrative agencies, etc. and the industry, government and academia exchange for the purpose of the understanding of the latest research trends ,the obtaining of the latest knowledge and the understanding of the governmental needs, etc.. PRILIT also work on the exchange with international organizations, overseas research institutes, etc. or cooperative projects, etc..

If the implementation of the research using the specialized knowledge or skills should be required, PRILIT will invite the external academic experts as visiting researchers.
