3. Present Condition of International Cooperation and Future Tasks


@ @ In order to cooperate with the self-helping efforts in economical, expansion of developing countries, Japan offered aid in 1973 to these countries in an amount of US$5,844.2 million, which accounted for 1.42 per cent of her GNP. For aid related to transport, out of governmental development aid, international aid is underway in the field of technical cooperation such as receiving foreign trainees into Japan, sending experts to developing countries and executing developing exploration and also in the field of financial assistance by yen loans, gratuitous aid and reparations.
