(Current Status of Disasters and Preventive Measures)


@ @ From the geographical and topographical conditions, our country is vulnerable to various forms of disasters such as earthquake, heavy rainfall, flood, heavy snowfall, high tide, tidal wave, etc. and is undergoing much damage every year. Such is not an exception for the traffic means, and the damage to the transport facilities is given in Table 3-1-2.
@ @ In order to prevent such a disaster as far as practicable and, in the event of occurrence of a disaster. carry out a restoration work immediately and thus reduce the effect upon the national life to minimum, a Disaster Preventive Work Program is provided for execution of various measures for prevention of disasters.
