On March 14 1992 the model 300 "Nozomi" shinkansen between Shinkansen
Tokyo and Shin-Osaka of Tokaido began its operations. "Nozomi" runs at a maximum
speed of 270 km/h and links Tokyo and Shin-Osaka in just two and a half hours.
Also starting through operation between the OuLine Fukushima and Yamagata
on July 1, 1992 is the model 400 shinkansen "Tsubasa" which can run on both
the pre-existing lines and shinkansen lines, enabling Tokyo and Yamagata to
be linked in a minimum two hours and twenty seven minutes.
