AIMlNG TO FORM A SAFE AND PLEASANT AUTOMOBILE COMMUNITY, THE COUNCIL FOR TRANSPORT TECHNOLOGY SUBMITS REPORT ON "GOALS FOR EXPANDlNG, EN-HANClNG AND STRENGTHENlNG CAR SAFETY STANDARDS" (MARCH 31, 1992)


    Recently, with the automobile community in a crisis which some call the second traffic war, the council for transport technology, in consideration of the characteristics of recent accidents, many of which are fatal as the victims are often trapped in their vehicles and the high incidence of accidents due to speeding, is examining technical measures necessary for ensuring the safety of automobiles.
    As a result, in March 1992, it submitted a report "Goals for expanding, enhancing and strengthening automobile safety standards" which contains the aims to improve crash absorbing efficiency of the whole car including the structure of the car, introduce warning devices which sound when seat-belts have not been fastened, and expand the regulations requiring the use of the anti-lock brakes, and improve brake efficiency when speeding, etc.. It plans to systematically carry out safety measures according to these goals.
