SECTION 2. CONTRIBUTIONS TOWARDS AN INTERNATIONAL SOCIETY
1 Promoting International Cooperation
The ministry of Transport is offering international co-operation corresponding
to the needs of developing countries by implementing bilateral strategy talks
and drawing up aid guidelines according to principle aid-receiving countries and
principle aid-receiving fields. The Ministry also participates in the Asian Pacific
Economic Cooperation (APEC , etc., and receives specialists from the former Soviet
Union, etc.
Furthermore, based on the bilateral science and technology cooperation treaty,
etc., it holds interchanges with specialists from about 15 countries on 100 themes
of transport related technology, conducts joint research, etc.
2 Participating in the International Specialized Exposition "Christopher Columbus"
Ships and the Sea
During the three months from May 1992, the transport ministry took the lead
role in participating in the Exposition held in Genoa, Italy.
