1. Bilateral Relations


    The issue of automobiles and automotive parts came to a final settlement in August 1995 after two years of negotiations with the United States.
    In the Japan-US aviation talks, Iaunched to solve the issue of whether to grant an American cargo carrier new rights to fly beyond Japan to other countries, Japan won the right to fly new routes and opened the way to correct the inequality and imbalance between the two countries in aviation.

2. Multinational Relations


    Japan is engaged in continuing negotiations on shipping at the World Trade Organization. It is also striving for the development of transport industry and tourism in the Asia-Pacific region (Fig. 38, Fig. 39).
