1. Efforts to Reform of the Japanese National Railways

　 　 While the debts of JR Group Companies are shrinking smoothly, those of the Japanese National Railways Settlement Corporation remain unchanged. To complete the reform of the Japanese National Railways, the Ministry will do its best for an early settlement of long-term debts and other liabilities of JNR (Table 20).
