@ @ Japan energetically held 22 bilateral negotiations on aviation with 16 countries in fiscal 1995. As for marine transportation, Japan is engaged in activities of international organizations and in bilateral adjustments of marine transportation policies based on the principle of the freedom of marine transport. Through such negotiations and policy adjustments, the government is making efforts to upgrade international traffic services together with developing ports and airports.
