To develop further cooperation or to resolve international problems, Japan is engaged in consultations and policy dialogues with relevant countries in High-level Meetings on Transport, the Japan-US Framework for a New Economic Partnership, the Japan-US Civil Aviation Talks, WTO (World Trade Organization), APEC (Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation), etc. In the Japan-US Civil Aviation Consultations, notable progress has been made. In April 1995, the rectification of imbalances in the field of cargo under the present Air Transport Agreement between Japan and the U.S. was almost practically completed. Japan is committed to continue redressing the imbalance in the field of passengers.
