Section 1. Restructuring of Physical Distribution Structure in Response to Socioeconomic Changes

　 　 Japan is undergoing major socioeconomic changes. As the economy is going global, international competitions are intensifying and an increasing number of people want to see a society in which they can feel affluence of life. Also in physical distribution, there are signs of changes : cost-cutting moves, streamlining of systems for receiving imports, and a smoother linkage of the international and domestic distribution channels.
