Regarding the bus service, various measures are being taken for its activation
in urban areas and smoother road traffic. Such measures aim to : improve running
conditions and the transport service by bus, make the flow of traffic smoother
in cities, and establish an efficient transport system by coordinating different
transportation means. Efforts are also being taken to maintain and develop bus
services in provinces, promote chartered bus businesses, and create express
bus networks.
As for taxis, relevant restrictions are under review. Diverse fare rates
are expected to be adopted and restrictive operations to meet demand are being
eased. In addition, the limitation on the business area are being relaxed on
a step-by-step basis.
With regard to the truck transport, relevant restrictions are being reviewed.
The obligation to submit cost accounts was relaxed, and more "enlarged business
zones" are being adopted on a step-by-step basis. Efforts are also being made
to deal with safety and efficiency in transportation, computerization and other
issues.
