Automobiles are indispensable to the modern society, and currently numbers 70.12 million. More efforts are required to realize a safe automobile society in harmony with the environment. To this end, anti-pollution measures are being taken. Such measures include diffusion of low-pollution vehicles, the Nox law (the law for controlling Nox from automobile), exhaustion emission and noise control. Efforts are also being made to promote safety measures such as research and development of ASV (Advanced Safety Vehicle) and provision of automobile safety information on a trial basis.
