ETC (Electronic Toll Collection System) has made non-stop, cash-less automatic toll collection a reality. ETC, which started service in March 2001, had been installed at 741 toll gates by the end of September 2002, and by the end of March 2003, will cover approximately 900 toll gates, through which 90% of expressway users pass. The service will be nationwide in approximately two years.
