Section5 Activities for Standardization

Activities for Domestic Standardization

Road Communication Standard

Coordination with international standards

There are various standards for road information communication systems, such as the international standards laid down by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), domestic standards that are provided by domestic standardization organizations, such as the Association of Radio Industries and Business (ARIB), and widely-used de facto standards that are provided by standardization organizations of this field, such as IETF, which promotes standardization in the field of the Internet. The Road Communication Standard cites provisions that agree with its objectives from these standards and defines new provisions for those that are not defined in the existing standards so as to conform with the standardization activities of ISO and other standardization organizations.
