On 1st July 2004, the Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announces publicly that the minister set Maritime Security Level 1* on all ships and port facilities, which engage on international services, in accordance with the provision of article 3 paragraph 1 of the Law for the Security of Ships and of Port Facilities (Law No.31, April 14, 2004).

*Maritime Security Level 1 corresponds to “Security Level 1” of the ISPS Code.

Security level means the qualification of the degree of risk that a security incident will be attempted or will occur. (SOLAS XI-2/1.14)

Security level 1 means the level for which minimum appropriate protective security measures shall be maintained at all times.(ISPS Code 2.1.9)
