Green Infrastructure Promotion Strategy 2030

○ The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) formulated the "Green Infrastructure Promotion Strategy 2023" and has worked to integrate green infrastructure through the concerted efforts of the public and private sectors.
○ Building on the progress made in implementing green infrastructure under the previous strategy and considering domestic and international trends, MLIT has formulated the "Green Infrastructure Promotion Strategy 2030" as an action plan under the "MLIT Environmental Action Plan" (established in June 2025).
○ The planning period for this strategy extends through fiscal year 2030; it aims to realize a society where the use of green infrastructure is the norm and to work toward achieving a "society in harmony with nature" by 2050.
○ The key points of this strategy are as follows:
[1] Clarifying and explaining definitions and benefits in an accessible manner to facilitate the widespread adoption of green infrastructure.
[2] Outlining cross-sectoral measures to create an environment where the use of green infrastructure is the norm, and establishing 20 KPIs for the first time.
[3] Systematically organizing specific MLIT projects that implement green infrastructure to address societal challenges, and establishing 19 representative KPIs.
