2. Seamen's Casualties


@ @ The origination condition of seamen's casualties for the fiscal year of 1972 is as shown in Table II-(II)-2 and the origination ratio of crews killed and injured per 1,000 crews reached 36.2 for average of all type of vessels and was the same ratio as for the preceding fiscal year. In observing this according to type of vessel, those for fishing vessel were the greatest and followed in the order of special purpose ships and steamships.
@ @ Moreover, in comparing the origination ratio of seamen, scasualties against the average for on land industries, it is 3 times that of casualties requiring more than 8 days of work rest and about 11.5 times that of death casualties,
