Demands for provision of distribution facilities such as warehouses, intermodal
distribution bases, truck terminals and other complex strategic bases for physical
distribution are being dealt with accordingly.
Due to the sharp increase in imported freight in recent years, there is
overcrowding in harbors and airports. This problem has been raised in the SII,
etc., and the establishment of a corresponding import-related infrastructure
is being given support.
Furthermore based on the "Temporary Measures Law for Making Smoother Import
Promotion and Domestic Investment Undertakings" that was approved in July 1992,
undertakings promoting imports in harbors and airports and vicinity areas will
be supported to achieve smooth distribution of imported freight.
