Learning lessons from Nakhodka and other large-scale oil spill incidents, the Ministry of Transport has been promoting steps to prevent such incidents, remove oil spills and build up international cooperation in oil spill incidents. It has also been implementing marine environmental conservation guidance to reduce marine pollution (Figures 63 and Figures 64).
In order to address regional environmental problems such as air pollution caused by exhaust gas emissions from automobiles, the Ministry has been implementing mode-by-mode measures including exhaust gas emission regulations and anti-noise measures for automobiles and ships, as well as noise prevention measures for railways and aircraft.
