Shiraoi Port opened in 1990 as the newest port in Hokkaido, and has developed as a base for fisheries and ocean freight transportation.
The West wharf which began operation in 2013 has 240m in length and 11m in depth, and in 2017, the large cruise ship "Pacific Venus" arrived at the port for the first time.
In July 2020, the "National Ainu Museum" Wich inherits the culture of the indigenous people "Ainu" was established in Shiraoi town. There are also sightseeing spots such as Noboribetsu Onsen, Toya Lake and Shikotsu Lake in around this port. We are waiting for your port call.
UPOPOY opened July,2020 near the Lake Poroto in Shiraoi town,Hokkaido,Japan. UPOPOY is a national center for revitalizing the culture of Japan's indigenous Ainu people.
