IACIS 2012 (International Association of Colloid)
Co-hosted by the Science Council of Japan and The Chemical Society of Japan, the triennially held IACIS conference was hosted by Sendai City, Miyagi, in May 2012 to discuss the latest technologies on colloid and interface science; there were approximately 1,000 participants from 37 countries. The project was orally approved at the Cabinet meeting on June 21, 2011.

International Meeting of Experts to Share Knowledge and Lessons Learned from the Great East Japan Earthquake
In order to continually share with the global community the important knowledge and lessons we have gained from the Great East Japan Earthquake, as well as our efforts to build a highly disaster-resistant society, a meeting of experts will be held involving working-level officials from all over the world. (There is a possibility the meeting will be co-hosted with the High-Level International Conference on Large-Scale Natural Disasters that is organized by MOFA.)

7th National Convention for the Promotion of Dietary Education
The 7th National Convention for the Promotion of Dietary Education will be held in Yokohama City under the theme of “dietary education and recovery support.” The convention introduces the dietary culture of disaster-affected areas at the dedicated booths so participants can learn the importance of dietary habits and understand their connections with disaster-affected areas.
