Promotion of recovery efforts that utilize Tohoku’s abundant nature as part of the “Sanriku Reconstruction (Fukko) National Park Initiative” (tentative title)
In order to promote recovery along the coastal regions of Tohoku, this project encourages the re-establishment of natural parks in the disaster-affected area. It also examines the possibility of building a new, long walking trail alongside the coast, and promotes green tourism with the cooperation of regional agriculture, forestry, and fisheries industries. Through these activities, the project also turns attention to disaster-prevention measures and to connections between forests, mountains, and the ocean.
