ATFM AND AMHS SYSTEM COMPOSITION

International Civil Aviation Organization(ICAO), in a effort to ensure flight safety and operations on scheduled flight of international civil aviation, establishes operational procedures and technical standard for international aeronautical fixed telecommunication network(AFTN) and ATS Message Handling System(AMHS).
In Japan, Fukuoka AFTN/AMHS Communication Center and Naha AFTN Communication Center are established and Fukuoka performs as the core center of Asia region and operations by FDMS(Flight Data Management System).
AFTN/AMHS, as a world-wide system, is connected between international airports, ATC facilities and international airline companies, and exchanges vital information for aircraft operations such as, flight planning messages, weather messages, NOTAMs and others.
Further, a variety of information concerning supplies of aircraft parts, fuel service, changes of flight schedule etc. are also exchanged.
