毛越寺の地蔵菩薩
地蔵菩薩の像は日本中どこでもよく見られるものです。よく目にするのは、道端や寺の中です。剃髪で、シンプルな衣をまとった僧侶の姿で表現される地蔵は、すべての衆生の守護者であり、苦しみからの救済をもたらす存在です。 この像については多くのことはわかっておらず、毛越寺との関係もよくわかっていないが、つくられたのは江戸時代（1603～1867年）である可能性があるといいます。

Mōtsūji Jizō Bosatsu
Statues of the bodhisattva Jizō are common, often seen in the form of a monk with a shaved head and wearing simple robes. Jizō is the protector of all sentient beings and offers relief from suffering and guidance through the worlds beyond death. Not much is known about this exact statue and its relation to Mōtsūji temple, but it possibly dates from the Edo period (1603–1868).
