富楼那像
国宝
これは釈迦十大弟子の一人、富楼那の像である。インドではプンナまたはプールナと呼ばれる富楼那は、弟子たちの中でもダルマ（仏法）の説教に優れていたとされている。この富楼那像は、年老いた姿で表現され、その年齢が衣の数多くのひだで表されている。表情と衣服、そして右側に視線を送っている様子からは、高度な写実描写を見てとることができる。奈良時代（710～794年）につくられた、麻の繊維に漆を塗り重ねた乾漆造で、内部は空洞になっている。

富樓那是佛陀釋迦牟尼的十大弟子之一，巴利名「Punna」，梵名「Purna」，在佛陀諸弟子中以「說法第一」著稱，善於講解佛經佛法，是最了不起的傳道者。從多褶皺的袈裟看來，這尊富樓那像年齡較長。塑像的表情、衣飾和他望向右側的模樣都十分逼真。
這尊塑像出自奈良時代（710-794），以幹漆夾纻法製成。

National Treasure
Furuna is one of the Ten Great Disciples of Shakyamuni, the historical Buddha. Known as Punna, or Purna in India, Furuna was renowned among the disciples as the greatest preacher of the dharma, or Buddhist doctrine. Here, Furuna is depicted as an older man, and his age is reflected in the many folds of his robes. His expression and clothing, and the way he is looking off to the right, display a high degree of realism. This statue was made in the Nara period (710–794) by the hollow-core dry-lacquer sculpting technique.
