花瀬
花瀬の興味深い地形は、数千年前にこの地域の火山が噴火し、火砕流が蓄積されたことにより形成されました。時間の経過とともに、川の流れが徐々に火山岩を侵食し、人工の石畳のように見える非常に平坦な川底ができました。幅200メートル、長さ1.7キロメートルのこの珍しい自然地形は、素晴らしい鹿児島の自然史の担い手です。

Hanaze
Hanaze’s intriguing geography was formed thousands of years ago, when a volcanic explosion in the area resulted in an accumulation of pyroclastic flow. Over time the river currents gradually eroded the volcanic rock, resulting in a riverbed so flat it looks like a stone pavement. At 60 meters wide and 2 kilometers long, this unusual natural phenomenon is a reminder of Kagoshima’s natural history.
