Miwaku Village Campsite
Miwaku Village Campsite is located in the mountains of the Yoshiwa district, 90 minutes by car to the west of Hiroshima. With hot-spring baths, walking trails, a gallery, and a course for ground golf (similar to park golf), the venue has something for everyone to enjoy.
Facilities for tent camping are provided, but the site also offers 11 spacious modern cabins complete with kitchen and bathroom facilities. The A-type cabins accommodate up to six people, while the B-type cabins fit groups of four. For a more luxurious stay, the hotel attached to the Mizugami no Yu hot spring offers rooms for up to four people. Visitors who wish to camp can choose from 18 different tent sites, each with sinks, fireplaces, and power hookups included. There are also six car and RV camping spots, which are fully equipped with power hookups.
The outdoor charcoal barbecue pits are popular in warm weather, and in the autumn, the chestnut trees surrounding the campsite drop plenty of nuts ready for roasting. The nearby forests feature numerous walking trails designed to highlight the area’s natural beauty throughout the seasons. In spring and summer, the native Japanese stewartia trees bloom, creating a brilliant white backdrop. The Yakeyama River flows beside the campsite and is ideal for swimming or catching freshwater eels.
The 24-hole ground golf course, with sweeping views of the mountains, is designed for enjoyment by both children and adults. Local produce and souvenirs are available at the Tokusankan (local specialty goods building), while regular interactive exhibitions of paintings, woodwork, and ceramics are held in the gallery. The Mizugami no Yu hot spring has an indoor bath and a tatami-mat lounge room. Restaurant Miwaku serves lunch and dinner from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily and offers a special set meal discount for hot-spring bathers.
