Local Culture Preservation Training Center
The Local Culture Preservation Training Center (known locally as the Kurokawa Noh Training Center) provides a space where members of the local community can stage events to share and pass on traditions of local culture such as dances. Visitors can view special performances of Kurokawa Noh, the local form of classical noh drama, and, with advance reservations, join guided tours of Kasuga Jinja Shrine and Kurokawa. The center is also the storage unit for noh costumes owned by the kamiza (upper) and shimoza (lower) troupes, as well as historic documents and artifacts related to Kasuga Jinja Shrine.
The facility was opened in 1986 and is managed and operated by the Kurokawa District Agricultural Village Promotion Association.
The association also operates a small shop at the Kurokawa Noh-no-Sato Ogi Kaikan (Kurokawa Noh Village Ogi Hall), located across the road. It sells noh dolls and noh-related merchandise as well as books, postcards, and specialty folk crafts.
