ライチョウを守る
乗鞍岳の貴重な住人であるライチョウ。全国的にも絶滅の危機に瀕しているこの鳥は、高山の厳しい環境を生き抜くことができますが、その未来は人間の配慮にかかっています。

くれぐれも距離を置いて、決して触らないようにしてください。鳥たちは飼いならされているように見えても、実は彼らに極度の苦痛を与えてしまいます。
また、鳥たちを怖がらせるようなことはしないでください。静かにして、敬意を払ってください。
鳥たちに餌を与えないでください。落ちているパンくずでさえ、キツネ、テン、カラスなどの捕食者を引き寄せる可能性があり、ライチョウにとっては致命的な結果になりかねません。
Protecting the Rock Ptarmigan
The rock ptarmigan (raichō) is a treasured resident of Mt. Norikura. Endangered nationwide, these resilient ground-dwelling birds can survive the harshest alpine conditions, but their future depends on human care and consideration.

Please keep your distance, and never attempt to touch the birds. Tame as they seem, this would cause them extreme distress.
Do not do anything that might frighten the birds. Please remain quiet and respectful.
Never feed the birds. Even a dropped crumb can attract predators such as foxes, martens, and crows—with potentially fatal results for the rock ptarmigan.
