The Japan Tourism Agency has created a guide containing information on accessible restaurants for the elderly and people with disabilities.
This guide focuses on restaurants in the areas surrounding the competition venues for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games and the main train stations nearby that are carrying out initiatives for disability accessibility.
The information in this guide is based on actual visits and evaluations by people with disabilities and emphasizes the perspectives of older people and those with disabilities. It will serve as a useful resource not only for them, but also for their relatives and friends when going out to eat together.
〇Disability-accessible restaurant guide
We have created a guide for eating and drinking establishments in the areas surrounding the venues for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games where wheelchairs can be used.
The accessibility features of each facility can be confirmed in a checklist format.
〇How to use this guide
This guide lists accessibility and inbound support conditions for each restaurant based on investigations conducted by people with disabilities who visited them in person.
