Osaka City Central Public Hall
Stockbroker Iwamoto Einosuke (1877–1916) funded the construction of this elegant building, which is located in Osaka’s Kita Ward and dates back to 1918. It features Neo-Renaissance architecture with red-brick construction and a domed roof of bronze. Extensive restoration work was carried out on the Hall between 1999 and 2002. The building shows the degree to which Western-style architecture was developed in Japan.
