Otaki Gorge

Otaki Gorge is a tranquil hiking spot located between the city of Toyota and Matsudaira-go. The 1.8-kilometer gorge is 148 meters deep and was made by the swift flow of the Nio River into the Tomoe River further downstream. The western end of the gorge is near Myoshoji Temple. On either side of the river is an observation deck: the Fudosan Observatory on one side and the Fukuroga Castle Observatory on the other. Both have sweeping views of the valley below. Walking trails follow the river, leading further up the gorge to the east to the secluded Utaishi Park and Otaki Lake.

The dense tree cover in the gorge keeps the area near the river shady and cool, somewhat like a rainforest. Along with the running water, it creates the ideal conditions for moss to grow on tree trunks, rocks, and the bridges over the river. Even the large old rocks in the river are covered with moss, which flourishes in the undisturbed, moist environment.

A round-trip walk from the entrance of the gorge up to Otaki Lake and back takes roughly three hours. Near the lake is a large park with a barbecue area and the striking red Otaki Lake Bridge. The gorge is noted for its beauty throughout the year, but is particularly popular in autumn for its brilliant maple foliage and in spring for its plum and cherry blossoms.

王瀧溪谷

王瀧溪谷位於豐田市和松平鄉之間，是一處寧靜的健行勝地。這段1.8公里長的溪谷深148公尺，由仁王川流入下游巴川的湍急水流沖刷形成。溪谷西端在妙昌寺附近。河流兩岸，一側是不動山觀景台，另一側是梟城觀景台，兩處都可俯瞰峽谷全景。沿著修整完好的河畔步道一路往東深入溪谷，可以到達隱秘的歌石園地和王瀧湖。

溪谷沿河一帶被濃密的樹冠遮蓋，蔭蔽而清涼，置身其中仿佛來到了雨林。奔流的溪水和樹蔭為苔蘚提供了絕佳的生長環境，這裡潮濕且未受外界影響，樹幹、岩石、跨河的小橋，甚至水中古老的巨石皆被茂盛的青苔覆蓋。

從溪谷入口到王瀧湖徒步往返大約需要3小時。湖畔的大公園裡有燒烤區，還有一座醒目的紅色王瀧湖橋。溪谷以四季美景聞名，人氣最旺當屬秋季看楓葉、春季賞梅櫻。

王泷溪谷
