男鹿真山伝承館：実演 なまはげ台帳の話：嫁
次に、ナマハゲはイチローの母、ミツコに目を向けます。家長は嫁を非常によく思っており、働き者でよい嫁だと思っています。彼の息子とミツコは結婚して15年になります。ミツコはよその村の出身ですが、この共同体の立派な一員となるのには十分すぎる年月でしょう。しかしナマハゲはミツコに難癖をつけたいようです。ミツコが早起きして家族の朝食を作っていないと非難します。
家長の母がやることを持ち健康でいられるよう、朝食の準備は家長の母がすることになっているのだと家長が主張しますが、ナマハゲはこれを言い訳として突っぱねます。ナマハゲはミツコがよく友達と夜遅くまで出かけていることを明らかにします。家長は早寝のため、このことを知らなかったと言います。
ナマハゲはますます苛立ち、再び主人の家を捜索すると脅します。問答は続きます。家長は家族をかばってしっかりと立ち向かい、ナマハゲに帳面を仕舞いもっと酒を飲むよう懇願します。
8. 오가신잔 전승관: 공연, 나마하게 장부 이야기: 며느리
다음으로 나마하게는 이치로의 엄마 미쓰코에 대해 이야기합니다. 가장은 아들의 아내인 미쓰코를 매우 마음에 들어 하고 부지런하고 착한 며느리라고 생각하고 있습니다. 아들과 미쓰코는 결혼한 지 15년이 됩니다. 미쓰코는 다른 마을 출신이지만 이 마을의 일원이 되기에는 충분하고도 남을 세월이죠. 하지만 나마하게는 미쓰코에게 트집을 잡고 싶은 것 같습니다. 미쓰코가 일찍 일어나서 가족의 아침 식사를 차리지 않는다고 비난합니다.
가장은 어머니가 건강하게 지낼 수 있도록 일부러 집안일을 분담하여 아침 식사 준비는 가장의 어머니가 하는 것으로 정했다고 주장하지만, 나마하게는 이를 핑계라며 일축하고 미쓰코가 종종 친구들과 밤늦게까지 외출한다는 사실을 밝힙니다. 하지만 가장은 항상 일찍 잠들기 때문에 이 사실을 몰랐다고 말합니다.
나마하게는 더욱 조바심이 나서 다시 주인의 집을 수색하겠다고 위협하면서 집 안을 돌아다닙니다. 가장은 가족을 감싸고자 당차게 맞서며 나마하게에게 장부를 집어넣고 술을 더 마실 것을 간청합니다.
Namahage Performance, Part 8: The Namahage Log and the Daughter-in-Law
Next, the Namahage turn their attention to Ichiro’s mother, Mitsuko. The head of the household is very fond of his daughter-in-law, and considers her both a hard worker and a good wife. His son and Mitsuko have been married for 15 years—more than enough time for her to become a full-fledged member of the community, one would think, even though Mitsuko comes from another village. But the Namahage appear to have it in for her. They criticize her for not waking up early to make breakfast for the family.
When the head of the household protests that his mother prepares the morning meal for everyone so that she can stay healthy and occupied, the Namahage dismiss this as an excuse. They reveal that Mitsuko often goes out with her friends until late at night, a fact that the head of the household claims he was unaware of because he goes to bed early.
The Namahage become increasingly agitated and threaten to search the host’s home again. The back-and-forth continues; the head of the household tenaciously stands up for his family by pleading with the Namahage to put their logbook away and drink more sake instead.
